Meet Our Leadership Team

The leadership team at COB EM consists of the ordained pastor, teacher, deacons, and members who have the confidence to guide our community in faith, answer questions, conduct services and organize church events.

Minwoo Heo

Pastor

Minwoo and Christina have been serving at Church of Bethlehem since 2020. They have three daughters. Minwoo did his BA at Calvin University ('09). Upon graduation, Minwoo worked as an interpreting officer in the Republic of Korea Airforce and as a marketer at Samsung. Minwoo did his M.Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is currently doing his Ph.D. studies in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  Minwoo is fluent in English and Korean.

Hope Chang

Youth Pastor

Hope graduated from Colombia University. She is currently studying at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, doing her M.Div.

Yujin Suhr

Pastor assistant

Yujin did her BA from Wheaton College, Masters from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. She is currently doing her Ph.D studies (Old Testament) at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Christina Shandro

Elementary Teacher

Christina did her BA at Calvin University ('09) and is studying for her MA in Theological Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She has been faithfully serving the elementary school aged children since 2022. Christina is fluent in English and Korean.

Ito Maki

Pre-Elementary Teacher

Maki did her BA at International Christian University ('00) in Tokyo and Christian Life College ('19) in Mount Prospect, IL. She completed her MA studies in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School ('22). She started serving in children's ministry as a teacher at the Church of Bethlehem in 2019 and has been serving faithfully as a children's pastor since 2022. Maki is fluent in Japanese, Korean, and English.
